Channing Tatum Returns to Stripping
Before he was a leading man, and even before he was a fashion model, Channing Tatum paid his rent by stripping. Now the 31-year-old actor is collaborating with director Steven Soderbergh to bring a story inspired by his earliest “performing” gig to the silver screen.
Tatum, is co-producing the film, titled Magic Mike, said the it is based on a “wild time in my life.” And the Dear John star actually pitched his idea for a story of friendship set in the world of male strippers to Soderbergh, who called it one of the “best ideas” he’s ever heard for a movie. “We’re using Saturday Night Fever as our model, so hopefully we’re on the right track,” said the Oscar-winning director.

Oscar Favorite King's Speech Shot on Gay Porn Set
We're speechless! The King's Speech, about England's King George VI (played by Colin Firth) and his attempt to overcome a crippling stutter, was partially filmed on a set used for gay porn.
The film, nominated for twelve Academy Awards including best picture and best actor, features scenes in which King George visits speech therapist Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush) in his office that were shot on a set that was also used by the website UK Naked Me.

An Oscar?
The Kids Are Alright star Annette Bening is poised to make cinematic history on February 27th.
If she takes home the Best Actress Oscar that day, it will be the first time ever that the Academy honors a portrayal of a lesbian character who doesn’t kill someone (including herself) or die before the film’s credits roll.

While everybody suggests she has a good shot at taking home the gold, is the Academy really ready to honor a non-psychotic, non-tragic portrayal of a lesbian?

Razzie Awards
Nominations for the 31st Annual Razzie Awards have been announced !
Three gay icons, Barbra Streisand (Little Fockers), Cher (Burlesque), and Liza Minnelli (Sex and the City 2) made the cut for worst supporting actress.
The dubious awards, considered the anti-Oscars, cheekily "honor" the worst films and performances of 2010, and it should be noted that all three actresses have previously won Academy Awards as best actress.
I really do not believe a shit about this Award!

Frankie and Alice - Movie Review
Halle Berry, in her best and most shattering performance since her Oscar-winning Monster's Ball, snagged a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress for this fact-based tale of Frankie Murdoch, a 1970s black stripper with a body all her own but a head occupied by at least two other personalities.
One, Genius, is a scared child who still tries to look out for Frankie on her erotically charged forays into the Los Angeles club scene. The other, Alice, is a white racist who looks down on Frankie. When a series of blackouts gets Frankie labeled "crazy as a shithouse rat," Dr. Oz (Stellan Skarsgård) uses hypnotism to help Frankie make peace with her dissociative identity disorder, but it's a tough road.
It's tougher for British director Geoffrey Sax, since he is working from a script with its own identity crisis, given the nine writers needed to concoct it. It helps that Skarsgård and Phylicia Rashad, as Frankie's mother, offer stalwart support. But this movie, with its flashbacks to past sins and traumas, rests squarely on Berry, a mesmerizer who makes every moment count.

Material Boy
Remember the Movie about Madonna´s son that nobody knows it? I did a little research and found out that this 'secret son' of Madonna is none other than Luizo Vega, a performer, photographer, videomaker, and a platic artist living in Europe. His newest project - Material Boy - is an artistic documentary that narrates the life of a illegitimate son of Madonna...a project that explores the limits of contemporary art in the 21st century.
"On December 24th, 1973, a young 15-year-old girl named Madonna gave birth to a boy in a hospital in Michigan. Now, 36 years later, the best-ever kept secret in the history of pop music will be revealed."
It should have been released last August but I didn´t find anything about it!

Freddie In The Cinemas
A film biography of late bisexual Queen frontman Freddie Mercury has been confirmed to begin shooting this year.
"Work is now fully under way for the much-vaunted feature film on the life of Freddie," writes Mercury's Queen bandmate Roger Taylor on the group's website. "Peter Morgan (The Queen screenwriter) has delivered a first draft of the movie, which everyone is very excited about, and Sacha Baron Cohen is chomping at the bit to get into the role, in a way which certainly would delight Freddie!

Black Swan
Who's is ready to see BLACK SWAN?
BLACK SWAN follows the story of Nina (Natalie Portman), a ballerina in a New York City ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. She lives with her retired ballerina mother Erica (Barbara Hershey) who gealously supports her daughter's professional ambition. When artistic director decides to replace prima ballerina for the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily , who impresses Leroy as well. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side with a recklessness that threatens to destroy her.
